First Cup in the Hot Shop

In June of 2023, the glass-blowing shop was hot for the first time. After years of work building all the equipment, it was finally time to try it out. Our friend Joe Ross happened to be in Elkton that day for the annual Butterflies and Blooms festival. Joe came over to check out the new shop and he did a nice video of Avi making the first cup.

It’s more excitement than finesse narrating the video and making the very first piece of glass in the shop. The cup is a bit wonky, but it’s the first one he has made in almost 10 years and the first one made in the new shop. It is truly an exciting moment.
